Tale of 5 Gamers: 101st Airborne 'Battered Bastards of Bastogne' vs German Grenadiers 500 points 

Having played Joe with my winter US army, we had time for another game.  Joe decided to drop the half track and took a medium mortar with spotter, another veteran medium machine gun, whereas I took my newly completed 101st Airborne at Bastogne, Battle of the Bulge aka "The Battered Bastards of Bastogne" at 500 points.

This army is primarily infantry based, so lots of veteran airborne and some support to tackle the armour in later games. 

Using the same board set up, but this time instead of fighting the length of the battle field we worked across the centre,

Well another easy win for the US, the 101st Airborne were very tough and killed the Germans with relative ease. This has earned me another 3 points.  

Now for my Month 2 Progress, adding a tank and bazooka team...

Tale of 5 Gamers: US 3rd Army vs German Grenadiers 500 points

US Third Army

Month 2 and part of the February challenge is to fight the new 500 point army against another 500 point army.  So, my second army for the 2019 Tale of Five Gamers 'The Relief of Bastoge', Patton's US 3rd Army is set to take on a German Grenadier army.

I have completed the US 500 point winter  army to get the 3 points for January's challenge - now lets see how my force fairs on the battle field.

Points available for this battle is 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss... 

Well, the United States 3rd army easily took apart the Germans in 4 rounds, this has earned me the 3 points needed for the win!

 To take my army to 700 points I am adding a sherman tank and Medium mortar.

The tank is built, undercoated and I have started to add details. I still have weathering to add and maybe some snow too!

US Third Army

Update on my second army for the 2019 Tale of Five Gamers. I have completed the 500 point army "Relief of Bastogne" to support my 101st Airborne, but also to help get through the HUGE backlog I have for bolt Action... so progress with this army is well needed!

This US army has been built, painted and based, so I earn the 3 points available for January. 

Now i need to battle with this army for more points, and then build this army to 750 points ready for the next battle.

By the end of this challenge I will hopefully have a sizeable army for the US when the challenge is complete!  

Month one is primarily infantry based, with potential for a Sherman to be added in month 2! So keep an eye out on what comes next!
